Chatty Cafe Scheme UK logo

Bereavement is often the reason why hundreds of people end up feeling lonely after the loss of a loved one, often a partner. The Chatty Cafe scheme was not set up as a bereavement support service but many bereaved people are finding the scheme offers the support and option to meet other people and end their loneliness.

The Chatty Cafe Scheme offers three ways to connect.

Venues around the UK Chatter & Natter tables are where customers can sit if they are happy to talk to other customers. Hundreds of venues have signed up to the scheme, in cafes, pubs, libraries, hospitals – anywhere that people can sit and chat over a coffee.Chatty cafe's official partner is Costa Coffee and hundreds of their stores are participating in the scheme. Coffee isn't free, but good conversation is!

Virtual Chatty Cafe Sessions Held three days a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 1pm – 1:30pm. Anyone over 18 is welcome to join, there is no agenda – just chat and company.

We have people join from all over the UK and further afield. To join these sessions, please contact [email protected]

Chatter & Natter Telephone Friendship Service This supports those experiencing loneliness and/or social isolation. They will accept referrals from Social Prescribers and arrange for volunteers to call people every week for a chat although there is high demand for this service, so it is currently running in certain areas of the UK.
