Bereavement support for those who have lost a family member to cancer in West Scotland.

The Bereavement service is available to adults bereaved by cancer where their significant person received care from the West of Scotland Beatson Cancer Centre or other west of Scotland hospitals.

The Bereavement service offers information and advice, supportive conversations and group-based support. The group support provided is an 8-week closed, structured group that takes place in neutral, non-clinical venues across Glasgow. The group programme aims to support individuals in taking active steps towards building a life that feels full and meaningful. It builds upon a person’s existing coping strategies and resilience by helping them develop ways to respond to painful thoughts and feelings, so they have less impact on their day-to-day life.

The bereavement service can also help identify other services should individuals require a different type of support such as counselling or practical advice.
