Overview: AtaLoss CEO Yvonne Tulloch Named CEO Monthly’s Most Influential CEO 2026 in recognition of her leadership in Bereavement Support
We are delighted to announce that Yvonne Tulloch, our Founder and Chief Executive has been recognised with the prestigious CEO Monthly Most Influential CEO 2026 Award.
This accolade celebrates outstanding and visionary leadership, influence and impact in bereavement support and is awarded annually to CEOs who inspire, transform and drive meaningful change across organisations and communities. For AtaLoss, this recognition reflects Yvonne’s determination to change society’s long-standing “death denial” and to ensure that everyone can access timely, understanding bereavement support when someone dies.
Award judges highlighted Yvonne’s exceptional influence as a leader who is innovatively championing self-help, holistic support and a return to community-based bereavement support. This has shaped AtaLoss’ growth and expanding national influence. Today, our charity is recognised as the UK’s leading bereavement signposting organisation, playing a vital role within the wider bereavement support landscape by improving access and visibility to services and information, and with more than 570 locations delivering The Bereavement Journey® peer support programme: churches, prisons, workplaces, care homes and other settings.
Yvonne’s leadership is rooted in deep personal experience and a commitment to reshape how society responds to bereavement, breaking the taboo and making timely and all-round help easy to find. Since its conception AtaLoss has been offering an innovative model of raised awareness, signposting and community help, addressing the first three tiers of the adult bereavement care pyramid, to help the 85-90% of bereaved people who will grieve healthily without therapist support. Our recent impact report shows impressive results.
The award recognises not only Yvonne’s leadership, but the shared mission at the heart of AtaLoss: to make effective bereavement support accessible for all.
Reflecting on the award, Yvonne said:
“This award is a wonderful surprise, and great honour. It is not just personal but reflects the hard work and dedication of the AtaLoss team as a whole, and the pioneering nature of our work. Ensuring information and support is on hand for bereaved people through the media, signposting and increased community support, is changing the culture around bereavement, enabling grief to be processed, challenges to be addressed before problems escalate, and counsellors to be used effectively for complex needs. Also, we are not only bringing compassionate help to grieving people, we are addressing a public health issue at very low cost. Recognition like this encourages us to go further, reach more communities and continue to bring understanding and hope.”
