Menshare Listening Group (MSLG): Supporting Men’s Mental Health in Sussex

Menshare Listening Group (MSLG) is a listening group run by men, for men, founded in Crawley in 2021. The group was set up to give men experiencing emotional distress (including bereavement) a safe space to talk openly and be heard, something many men say they have never experienced before. The initiative has grown rapidly and now runs groups in Crawley, Horsham, and East Grinstead.

Men who attend often describe how powerful it is to hear others’ stories and to realise they are not alone. In addition to weekly face-to-face groups, MSLG also provides a wide range of services, including nature walks, weekend retreats, A–Z support services, therapy-based activities, and social and leisure opportunities. These initiatives help men strengthen relationships, improve their well-being, and reduce isolation.

MSLG also develops leadership opportunities within its organisation, offering men the chance to train in various roles, including Circle Leaders. With the right support, Menshare Listening Group (MSLG) can continue to make a life-changing difference for men in Sussex.
