St Paul's Cathedral
30th October 2026
On 30th October 2026 over 3,000 people from across the UK filled St Paul’s Cathedral for a poignant service and reception to celebrate ten years of AtaLoss, remember those who have died and launch Bereavement Matters Season.
We’re extremely grateful to all those who came and took part and for all the support so many individuals and organisations give.
We recognised how in many respects this is just the beginning. As public conversations about death open up, demand for grief support is increasing, for help with past as well as current loss.
Over ten years we have developed a three-tiered approach to bereavement support that can help the majority of bereaved people - a model that is cost-effective and scalable, and which we know can transform lives.
We believe as we move into the next 10 years, if we work together across the sectors for greater provision of bereavement support, this could contribute significantly to transforming society.
So please get involved and help sustain the next 10 years.

What is happening to the washing lines?
The Remembering Trail
The rotary washing lines in the St Paul’s service are beginning the Bereavement Matters ‘Remembering Trail’. After the service they will join others from All Souls’ services in Parliament and St Albans Cathedral and be placed in public locations across London, where visitors can add a name, message or prayer to create a shared expression of love and remembrance over the two-month period.
The washing lines symbolise how those who have died remain part of our thoughts in everyday life and are accompanied by Mal Pope’s single Still With Me, made available for free use during Bereavement Matters Season.
Still With Me, Mal Pope
Released for Bereavement Matters Season, Mal Pope's charity single Still With Me - a song about love, loss and remembering - will accompany the Remembering Trail across London.
The song, together with versions featuring Mumbles A Cappella and a choir backing track, is available for free for all who want a song to remember loved ones.
We hope it will be shared and downloaded widely to reach the charts, and help many people find bereavement support throughout the two months and beyond.
Candle dedications
Candles were dedicated and lit in our service at St Paul’s Cathedral in memory of people who have died. We invite you to view their names and join us in remembering them.
