Reverend Mark Perry
Mark is an Anglican priest. With a background in education, policing, and military service, his ministry spans city, rural and Defence settings.
Mark began his journey in public service through the Air Training Corps, later serving with the Army Cadet Force and the Metropolitan Police. Before ordination, he taught in schools and has since led church communities, pioneered school chaplaincy, and promoted interfaith collaboration.
He was involved with AtaLoss from its earliest days, offering support and encouragement at the outset of Yvonne’s bereavement journey following the loss of her husband.
Commissioned into the RAF Chaplains Branch in 2015, Mark has supported personnel across the UK and overseas. His leadership has helped shape pastoral care, national services, and Defence engagement, including the RAF’s first nationally broadcast LGBTQ+ service at St Clement Danes, the Central Church of the Royal Air Force where he was Resident Chaplain.
A passionate advocate for inclusion, education and heritage, Mark actively supports charitable causes as a fundraiser, ambassador, and regional board member. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, promotes dyslexic thinking, and is a Liveryman and Chaplain to the Worshipful Company of Educators. For services to the Faith and Humanity he was appointed to the Most Venerable Order of St John in 2017.
Mark lives with his wife and two children, and enjoys theatre, walking, badminton, and time with friends and family. He also holds the Freedom of the City of London - complete with the right to drive sheep across London Bridge!
