Remembering Revd Nicky Grey

We’re very sad to be sharing news of our colleague Nicky Grey’s death after a few weeks’ battle with cancer.
Nicky leaves an impressive legacy in bereavement support in prisons, as well as in her pastoral support of so many people who met her.
Nicky first became involved with AtaLoss by helping with the national online The Bereavement Journey® in October 2022 and went on to deliver the programme to many women prisoners in HMP Foston Hall, where she served as Chaplain. Such was her commitment to bereavement support and the results she saw of The Bereavement Journey® in prison, Nicky joined AtaLoss part-time in 2024 as Head of Church Engagement, alongside her prison chaplaincy, where she enabled many churches to deliver The Bereavement Journey® and enhanced bereavement support. In December 2025 she became Project Lead of our Prisons The Bereavement Journey® project, overseeing seven pilots and spearheading the programme's delivery in several other prisons.
Our thoughts and prayers are with her son Robin and wider family and with all who knew her. We will miss her greatly.
