WAY - Widowed & Young
WAY Widowed and Young is a UK charity dedicated to supporting people who have been widowed before their 51st birthday. Through a unique peer-to-peer support network, WAY helps young widowed people connect with others across the UK who truly understand the challenges of life after the loss of a partner.
With more than 4,400 members across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, WAY offers a wide range of support, including:
· private, members-only Facebook groups and Member Hub providing a safe space to connect with other members
· access to specialised peer groups tailored to people’s unique situation, location, interests, or type of loss
· local and national face-to-face meet ups, as well as relaxed weekend trips with people who truly understand
· a confidential professional counselling service delivered by video link or telephone
· a network of local volunteers who have all been widowed themselves.
WAY membership is open to anyone who has lost their partner before the age of 51, whether married or unmarried, with or without children. WAY welcomes members of all sexual orientations, gender identities, races, religions and backgrounds, creating an inclusive community where no one has to face young widowhood alone.
WAY is also a member of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Grief Support and the Impact of Death on Society.
