A team of trained Bereavement support workers and counsellors are here to offer one-to-one support for loved ones of patients who were cared for by Isabel Hospice. We offer support to both bereaved adults and children. We also offer a reciprocal service for those whose loved ones have died in other hospices, but who live in our catchment area.

Child Bereavement support and care is available to all children in Eastern Hertfordshire. Children are supported whether or not associated with a hospice patient.
For the children : group work and 1-1 support and Mindfulness groups are offered.
We have our Compassionate Communities team who offer support to adults whether they are associated with a hospice patient or not.

This includes:

Grief Encounters Bereavement group which is a 6 week course in Welwyn Garden City, Hoddesdon, Waltham Cross and Bishops Stortford. Need to self refer to be added to a group.
Compassionate cafes which are drop in social meet ups and are in Broxbourne, Ware, Hatfield, Bishops Stortford, Welwyn Garden City, Waltham Cross, Cheshunt and Hertford- no need to self refer.
