Amy Bassinder runs Barnsley Carers & Loved Ones Cancer Support Group.‍ ‍

The group is designed specifically for carers and loved ones of those living with cancer, as well as individuals who have been bereaved due to cancer. The group provides a safe, welcoming space for people to connect with others who understand their experiences, share support, and reduce feelings of isolation. It also offers opportunities to access further information, build confidence, and connect with others who understand the impact of cancer-related bereavement.

As part of Amy’s role as a non-medical Social Prescribing Link Worker, she supports individuals holistically and works closely with community organisations and services to ensure people are connected to appropriate support. 

Monthly meeting locations:
• 1st Tuesday (6PM) – BHF Priory Centre, Lundwood, S71 5PN
• 2nd Monday (2PM) – St John’s Community Centre, Penistone, S36 6AR
• 2nd Thursday (2PM) – The Well for Wellbeing, Barnsley Town Centre
• 3rd Tuesday (2PM) – BHF Priory Centre, Lundwood, S71 5PN
