Omega Omega works hard to raise standards in end-of-life care by supporting elderly caregivers, people who are themselves end of life, and those who have been bereaved. Loneliness and social isolation can arise as a result of loss and age and Omega is committed to helping caregivers and the bereaved stay connected in later life. Omega runs free bereavement support groups in the Dudley and Stourbridge area which are based on the Caring with Confidence "After Caring" series. This bereavement support programme consists of three 3-hour sessions led by two experienced facilitators, in small and friendly groups. The sessions are arranged in response to demand and anyone who would like to attend is required to preregister via the Omega office. Although these sessions were originally aimed at bereaved carers experience has shown that they are suitable for and open to most people looking for support after a bereavement.
