Omega works hard to raise standards in end of life care by supporting caregivers looking after someone with a terminal illness, people who are themselves end of life, and those who have been bereaved. They prioritise those aged over 75 and still caring or bereaved. Loneliness and social isolation arises as a result of demanding caregiving duties, loss and age, and Omega is committed to helping caregivers and the bereaved stay connected in later life.

Bereaved former carers not only face the grief associated with loss, but must often do so without the support network built up around the 'cared-for'. There are no "quick fixes" for carers dealing with grief, but regular group sessions could help. Omega runs free facilitated bereavement support groups in the Dudley and Stourbridge area, based on the Caring with Confidence "After Caring" series. This bereavement support programme consists of three 3 hour sessions, run by an experienced facilitator, in small, friendly groups.
