Meet the AtaLoss team

Message from Yvonne Richmond Tulloch, Chief Executive and Founder of AtaLoss

Yvonne

AtaLoss is run by people with a passion for encouraging good bereavement support. Apart from a few key roles we rely heavily on our wonderful volunteers, giving their time and professional expertise to enable and enhance the vision. We all share the same vision - that nobody in the UK, suffering a significant loss, should be left floundering or alone. All of us are doing something to make this a reality. If you recognise how bereavement impacts on people's lives, why not join our team and help us to deliver this vision.

Join the team.

Chief Executive Officer and Chair of the Board of Trustees

Yvonne
Yvonne Richmond Tulloch
Suddenly widowed in 2008 as a Cathedral Canon Yvonne's life went into free fall.  She realised how little she and others around her knew about bereavement, its difficulties and needs, and how hard it can be to find understanding support.  Since then Yvonne has focused her attention on ensuring bereaved people of all walks of life find the support that they need.  In 2016 Yvonne founded AtaLoss to signpost bereaved people to the range of support services that exist across the UK, plug gaps in support where it is scarce and mobilise effective local support. Her main focus is on training faith groups and church leaders to enhance bereavement support within communities.

As an ordained minister Yvonne has an additional perspective on the issues of bereavement and the needs of bereaved people.  She is Bishop's Officer for clergy bereavement for Southwark Diocese, and helps Care for the Family as Chaplain for their 'Widowed Young Support' and in facilitating 'Bereavement Care Awareness' days.  She is author of 'Faith Questions in Bereavement' and leads a national on-line The Bereavement Journey course several times a year.

Although founded by a Christian, AtaLoss is a charity run by people from all backgrounds and its service is for bereaved people whatever their faith or cultural background, wherever they live in a UK.

Lindsay Lucas

AtaLoss Friends Co-ordinator

Expand

Lindsay Lucas has joined the team to establish the Friends of AtaLoss - Friends are supporters who believe in what we do, have benefitted from our service or are professionals who want others to know about our signposting and information service.

Lindsay has enjoyed two main careers: teaching and running her own music business. She composed a musical work in 2008 to raise money for her local bereavement charity, Edward’s Trust, in Birmingham, only to find her own need for the charity’s counselling support three years later when her husband died suddenly leaving her the sole parent of a 12 year old.

For the last eight years, Lindsay has befriended many young widows, through her support for Care For the Family (CFF). She has also delivered CFF’s Bereavement Awareness courses and helped facilitate 14 online The Bereavement Journey courses run by AtaLoss nationally and locally during the pandemic. She is a keen supporter bereavement charities and loves connecting & engaging with people, being creative,  (and proof-reading!) - all transferable skills which she is enthusiastic to use in her new role as AtaLoss Friends Co-ordinator.
