Many congratulations to Trustee, Jane Oundjian, who has been recognised with an MBE in the Queen's Belated Birthday Honours List!

Jane trained as a bereavement counsellor at Westminster Pastoral Foundation in 1993 and went on to train with Cruse Bereavement Care, for whom she worked for many years in the North Kensington area, giving one to one bereavement support to clients and helping to run counselling training sessions for the Branch.

Jane has had her own bereavement experiences having lost her single parent mother at the age of 16 and also her first child when he was only 14 months old. These experiences eventually led her in 1995 to write and develop a six-session course designed to help grieving people. She ran the course, The Bereavement Journey, for 23 years in London until 2018.

However, Jane's work continues as a Trustee of and this year The Bereavement Journey has come into its own as an online course, with many hundreds of people from all over the UK, bereaved during the pandemic,  benefitting from the support it offers.

Yvonne Richmond Tulloch, the Founder and CEO of says,

"Words can't express how thrilled we are that Jane has been recognised for her dedication to bereavement. Bereavement and the urgent need for bereavement support is such an important issue at the moment. Jane's legacy is amazing and continues to reach people who are grieving and in need of support, not just across the UK but around the world. This award is very well deserved. We are so proud to have her as one of our trustees!"
