The Child Death Helpline is a national charity and is here to help anyone affected by the death of a child. Your call will be answered by a trained volunteer who has also lost a child and understands the feelings that surround the death of a child. We offer a confidential, safe environment where you can talk openly about your child’s life and death – first and foremost we listen. Our helpline was established in 1989 at the Alder Centre, Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust.

We’re here to listen 7pm-10pm every evening throughout the year, and from 10am on weekdays. Anyone affected can contact us. Calls are free, confidential & answered by trained volunteers who have personally experienced the death of a child.
