SANDS - Aberdeen

Run by bereaved parents, with trained befrienders who aim to support anyone affected by the loss of their baby, before, during or around the time of their birth. They hold face to face support meetings which are very informal and at present these are held online please check their website for current arrangements. They have a Main Support Meeting on the 1st Thursday of the month and a Next Pregnancy After A Loss Group on the 3rd Wednesdays. In Moray there is a support meeting on the third Wednesday of the month  in Elgin and Keith alternating and trained befrienders locally in this area. Mothers, Partners and Grandparents are welcome to join for support. They also have a library of support books and send out a newsletter three times a year.  Two Christmas Services are held at ARI chapel in December.

Sands is a UK charity that works across the country to support anyone affected by the death of a baby; improve the care bereaved parents receive from health care and other professionals; and reduce the number of babies who do die by funding research and working closely with other organisations to create a world where fewer babies die.

They also have a free national helpline offering bereavement support and information on the telephone and by email.
